Bm vs english...which one is better? if u ask me that uastion, my answer wud be both are equally good and important in our lives...
last week i have been informed that we (new lecturers) have to sit for an english test right after coming back from raya...there goes my ambition of not doing anything during raya, yet again i somehow forgotten on how to study english(doing the revisionpart la....how aa?) well during school time tau la gak apa yg kena study at least tgk2 grammar ker tgk2 format essay ker kan...
they have informed me that we have to write an essay...not just any essay but guided essay on spesific topic (since the test is to evaluate on the proficiency of math and science lesturers, the guided essay wud be about science or mathematical equations la) yikes...so again how do u prepare for this? hmmm kalau guided essay on science kira ok lagi la bleh nak kelentong but if it's on math, i surrender la beb. I realise that i dont really like writing guided essay, free essay lagi best lagi banyak bleh kelentong heheheh....just pray for me to pass the test with flying colours...
speaking about language, i remember my BM lecturer in maktab. He used to say that BM is better than Eng because BM is richer than Eng...mula2 tuh brapa paham ler but then after explained, it make sense...
He gave us an example. The word "carry"... in bm there's a few words that cud describe it such as angkat, bawa, kendong, jinjing, junjung, jinjit,usung (byk nih jer yg bleh ingat)...the word "love" in BM ada la 2-3 perkataan yg describe love...such as kasih, sayang, cinta,kasih-sayang etc
so BM is richer in this sense...if u cud find other english wrd such as these please post it in my comment, i'm collecting these kindda of words...
last week went to mamu non's hse to break the fast (on mama and me+mamu non's family and mima's family) bukan majlis berbuka puasa yg besar2 pun saja mima wanted to belanja those yg baru habis PMR (akhbar, abidin and fahmi) and me being the only girl (besides farhana ye la tak der org nak sembang) by the way farhana is only 6 years old...so i grab one book and started to read...the book is about Mak Som by Lat
When i opened the book the most hilarious thing happen...heheheh tergelak sakan beb....ye la on the first page tuh tertulis nama Ali Akhbar Idris ( in Yah's handwriting and akhbar's handwriting...twice nama akhbar) then when i turn to the next page mmg tak tahan aaa there in the middle of the page dengan penuh bangganya tertulis

terus tunjuk kat mima and mama gelak habis ler...i think abidin wrote that masa dia kecik2 kot hahahah bila tunjuk kat dia, dia sengeh jer
i bet he just translated it from tuan punya buku ini ialah...
but i salute him for having the guts to try and write it in english alamak i have to go la tetiba ada byk kerja la plak...ok till we meet again :)
